What is your cancellation policy?

Cancellations must be made by telephone or email to at least 14 days prior to arrival. Your full payment deposit will be refunded minus a $25 processing fee. For late cancellations (within 14 days of your arrival) we will attempt to rebook the room for you. If we are unable to rebook your room, your deposit will be forfeited. If we do rebook the room, your deposit will be refunded, minus a $25 processing fee. All cancellations will be confirmed back to the guest via email from the innkeeper. 

What is the difference between the Main Inn and the Farmhouse?

About 90 years! The Main Inn was built in 1995 to serve as the original bed and breakfast. The breakfast dining room is in the Main Inn for all guests. The Farmhouse was built in 1905 and has been somewhat renovated so that the rooms are comfortable. We recently installed new beds, flooring and a new central air and heating system to increase the comfort and coziness of the space. All that being said, the Farmhouse is still an early 20th century farmhouse building. 

What are your breakfasts like?

We serve a full country breakfast, for example most Sunday mornings we are serving pancakes, sausage, cheese grits, scrambled eggs, and baked apples. The menu varies daily to include breakfast casseroles, omelets made or order, or Dina's special ricotta cheese based cakes served with apple butter and sour cream. Coffee, tea, and orange juice are always available.

Do you serve dinner?

No, we only serve breakfast, and only to our overnight guests. We are not open to the public like a restaurant.

I have special dietary needs. Can you accommodate me?

We certainly can! Please let us know in advance if you are gluten intolerant or have food allergies and we will do everything we can to be sure you can enjoy our breakfast!

You have a 2 night minimum on weekends, will you accept my 1 night stay as an exception?

Our availability calendar is up to date. If we can allow a 1 night stay on a weekend, it is already reflected on the calendar.

How do I book multiple rooms?

From the availability search page, choose:

  1. Check in date
  2. Check out date,
  3. --->Number of rooms<---
  4. Number of guests

When you click submit and proceed to the room descriptions, follow the prompts to choose your 1st, 2nd, or more rooms as you indicated.

Note: You cannot choose multiple rooms from the calendar view of our availability.

Are there wineries near the inn?

Yes, there are several wineries all within 5 minutes to 15 minutes of our inn. White Hall, Stinson, Grace Estate, Knight's Gambit, and King Family are the nearest.

What is the closest hiking to the inn?

You can hike into the Shenandoah National Park from a parking lot just 3 miles away, at the base of the mountain, following a river upstream into the park.

What restaurants to you recommend nearby?

Check out these restaurants in Crozet, only about 15 minutes away! The Three Notch'd Grill, Fardowner's Pub, Public West Pub & Oyster Bar, Crozet Pizza Pourhouse, Restoration, and Bangkok '99. We are very fortunate to have so many good restaurants nearby.

How far are you from Charlottesville?

We are 14 miles from Charlottesville, or about 30 minutes drive time to the Historic Downtown area with shopping, restaurants and nightlife.

How far are you from the UVa Campus?

We are about 20 minutes drive time to campus including John Paul Jones Arena.

How far are you from Monticello?

We are about a 30 minute drive to Monticello, with very few lights and traffic along the route.

Can I get a better rate than you have listed online?

The best rate we can offer is always listed for online reservations. Please check our availability calendar for the latest rates.

May I have my wedding, luncheon, or business retreat at your inn?

Sorry, we are not scheduling weddings, retreats, or any other uses of our space at this time.

Do you accept pets?

Yes we have pet friendly rooms (dogs only) in our 1905 Farmhouse. We accept all breeds. Our top policy is that you do not leave your pet in the room unattended. Ask us about our dog sitting!

Do you accept children?

We do not accept children in order to maintain a romantic quiet atmosphere for our guests.
