About Your Stay at Our B&B near Charlottesville

Whether you are celebrating a honeymoon, babymoon, anniversary, birthday, romantic getaway, or maybe "just because", now is the perfect time to plan a a visit to the Inn at Sugar Hollow Farm. Located near Monticello, many Charlottesville wineries, and numerous area attractions, our bed and breakfast truly offers something for everyone.

1. Where are you located?
We are 14 miles west of Charlottesville, a scenic 20-minute drive through the country to the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, and the edge of the Shenandoah National Park.

3. What amenities do you offer?
Lodging in a Virginia country-style home, built as a bed and breakfast inn or you may choose to stay in our adjacent 1905 renovated farmhouse.

We serve a full country breakfast each morning.

Stay in a suite with a king bed and double whirlpool tub in the bath, or in a room with a queen bed and tub/shower private bath, each room decorated in a different theme from woodland, floral, hummingbird, butterfly, colonial, or Victorian.

Comfortable common areas indoors such as the sunroom, study, family room, and reading nook.

Wood burning fireplaces are available in some rooms.

Complimentary hot and cold beverages and ice in two butler's pantries are available.

Outdoor spaces include our bluestone terrace, the flower and herb gardens, the upper deck for great star shows, 70 acres of pasture and wooded hillside, grand views of the Blue Ridge Mountains, a mountain stream, great places to walk, hike, or ride your bike, bird and butterfly watching.

4. What is there to see and do in the local area?
You may want to visit area attractions such as: Monticello, The University of Virginia, Ash-Lawn Highland, and Montpelier (the homes of James Monroe and James Madison)

Go wine tasting and touring and one of many nearby vineyards and wineries, and don't forget to stop off at micro-brewery or two.

Participate in nearby activities such as horseback riding, skiing, or tubing.

Shop and dine at the outdoor walking mall in the old historic district and stop to ice skate in the enclosed arena.

Fish 1/2 mile from the Inn on the Moorman River.

5. When is check in and check-out?
Check-in: Between 4pm - 7pm, or at another time by prior request.
Check-out: About 11 am.

6. What about smoking? What about pets? Children?
We are an entirely smoke-free inn.
Very sorry, but we have no place to accommodate your pet.
For the comfort of all our guests, children over 12 are welcome.

7. How do I make a reservation?
Check for room availability and make a reservation request. We will answer you by e-mail, confirming your reservation. The remainder may be paid by check, cash, or credit card upon arrival.

8. Do you serve meals?
Your room rate includes our full, hot, country breakfast each morning. On Saturdays in January, February, and early March, we prepare a special dinner for our guests who wish to dine with us.

9. Can I add a special feature to personalize my stay?
We welcome you to add one or more of our suggested options or to arrange for us to carry out one of your own ideas. See Packages for our suggestions.

10. Do you require a minimum stay?
Yes, a 2-night minimum on weekends (Fri.-Sat. or Sat.-Sun.), and a 3-night minimum stay on some holiday weekends.

11. How far in advance does one have to book?
It would be wise to book as soon as your plans are firm. Weekends are usually very busy. More choices are available for rooms on weekdays.
