Things To Do In The Charlottesville Area
Go Wine Tasting
Wine tasting and vineyard touring is very popular, and we have numerous wineries within a few miles of our bed and breakfast (see map) . For more information check out the Monticello Wine Trail, and if you don't have a designated driver, consider Blue Ridge Wine Excursions or even our friend Norm at Norm's Transportation!
From our bed and breakfast and follow the "Appellation Trail" of local boutique vineyards, or venture a little further and sample from vines all around the region, including the popular King Family Vineyards in nearby Crozet. We have maps and directions at the inn to get you started! Some local wineries are often open late through Spring, Summer and Fall! Check their website for events!

Tailgate Thursdays - Stinson Vineyards is open until 9:00pm. Tailgate Thursdays end after Labor Day Weekend.

In nearby Crozet, don't miss the newly renovated tasting room at Starr Hill Brewery, or try the brand new Pro Re Nata brewery on your way out to the Nelson 151 Route and the rest of the breweries on the Brew Ridge Trail. The Blue Mountain Brewery (try the apple, onion, bratwurst pizza!), Wild Wolf Brewery, and Devils Backbone on down the line await! Back in Charlottesville, you have other terrific options such South Street Brewery, Champion Brewery, and Three Notch'd Brewery new on the scene. If you just want to stay in one place and sample great beer from our region and beyond, check out the taps at Fardowner's Pub in Crozet!
Get To Know A President and Tour an Historic Presidential Home

After a tour at Monticello, stop by one of the local wineries or enjoy a stroll downtown on the Historic Pedestrian Mall for dinner at one of many fine restaurants before coming back for the evening at the inn.
Go Hiking, Try Horseback Riding, or Take a Hot Air Balloon Ride
Experience the outdoors on a hike along a mountain stream (see map of good hiking trails), go horseback riding through a vineyard, or even sign up for a hot air balloon ride over the majestic Blue Ridge and Charlottesville! Eight city blocks of restored and renovated buildings with specialty retail shopping, a variety of dining options including much outdoor seating, art galleries, theater, cinema and live music, all along the brick-paved pedestrian area.
Our guests can also attest to the excellent dining experience at Three Notch'd Grill or Fardowner's Pub in nearby Crozet, known for a high quality selection of craft beer on tap, great food, and free live music shows. (see map of our favorite restaurants)
